Arpanet 1974

The Internet has changed the way we communicate, interact and do business. This course discusses the core concepts, principles, protocols, and architectures of the Internet and the TCP/IP protocol suite with emphasis on the engineering aspects of the network interface layers of the OSI model.

The topics covered include: network technologies (IPv4 and IPv6), addressing, routing protocols, multicasting, and transport protocols as well as mobility and quality of service. See the course catalogue for more details.

The course combines lectures, theoretical and practical hands-on exercises. The credit given is 5 ECTS.

The course will start October 31, 2012 at 12.15.

The course is primarily based on the text book: "Internetworking with TCP/IP Principles, Protocols, and Architecture" by Douglas E. Comer, 6th ed., Pearson Prentice Hall, 2014. The book will be made available from Teknisk Boglade.

Looking forward to seeing you.

Kind regards
